The July 31, 2023, meeting of the Alcester City Council was called to order on by Councilwoman Darla Reppe, mayor pro tem at 7:00 p.m. with Councilman Kerry Hedden, Councilwoman Cyndi Peeples, Councilwoman Julia Sundstrom and Councilwoman Kendra Hatle present via telephone. No city attorneys were present with the exception of Attorney Sam Nelson via telephone to explain some things. Councilwoman Kendra Hatle, Absent were Mayor Lukas Driesen, Attorney Austin Felts, and City Attorney Sam Nelsen. The council and gallery recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

Outlining Lukas Driesen duly elected Mayor, outlining the number of signatures for his petition. 522 registered voters times 5% which would require 26 signatures on his petition which he achieved and was duly elected. I dealt with the withholding of the keys, passwords and etc. by the Finance Officer Patricia Jurrens. I will release the entirety of my remarks in a later posting.
TOM WALSH asked for a copy of last year’s budget and the budget for next year.
DARLA REPPE spoke to an issue of the purchase of three cemetery lots but no one ever got back to the prospective purchaser and another mail box which had been knocked over during the snow season.
